Home inspections are paid for at the time of the inspection and usually cost between $200-$400. The living area of the home determines the inspection amount. Click for a list of preferred home inspectors.
Negotiate repairs with the seller. If the seller refuses to make your requested repairs, you may choose to cancel your contract.
Remember during your inspection period, which is usually 10 calendar days, you can choose to cancel your contract if you find anything unsettling.
This inspection period is also the time to have a termite inspection. Call your lender to see if they need a termite certificate for your loan and decide if you'd like to have one done.
